Steve McQueen's pit bike, Kawasaki G31M

This is the bike Steve McQueen zipped around the movie set of LeMans on. Aparrently Von Dutch was told to 'get rid of the green tank' and came up with this quirkly number. Recently restored & sold in the U.S. for about $50'000-. Here are a couple of originals:

Yamaha 225cc Scorpio

The Yamaha Scorpio is a neat, if underpowered commuter that is cheap to buy and run. Not setting the world on fire, but a few have waved the custom stick and come up with some
interesting ideas. Here's the original (there are options available) :

To dream......the impossible dream........

From this...........(another ebay special)............
To this ! (a recoloured image of Jonathan Wood's neat resto, see earlier post).
Sure thing - shouldn't take too many years, or cost too much, heh.

Can you guess what this is?

This is a barn find (ebay) I picked up a month back for $30.00. After many people on the Kawasaki Riders Forum helping, it has finally been identified !

I could have sworn it was a Kawasaki J1M or G1M (wishful thinking)It is a Daytona (Taiwan)125 Road bike imported into Australia and sold by car racer Bob Jane in 1972. Engine is Kawa c2 120 copy. (thanks ZED900, MURN & Facthunt for the detective work).
Think I'll do some 'practice' restoration on it, Let the kids have a ride, then stick it back on eBay.

maybe I do want an open hace helmet after all...

The Steve McQueen replica issue. I won't tell you where to get it, as it is stupidly priced. But I love it. ( you can find out more on the wonderful http://www.pipeburn.com/ website)

More European gems

Thanks to Pipeburn for spotting a Netherlands Co. called Aermacchi Racing, who sell stunning Aermacci kit replicas and parts. The frames are works of art (and I don't say that lightly - see comparison below):

Derbi Racer (not Japanese, Spanish..who cares?)

Thanks to the creative people at: http://lecontainer.blogspot.com/
Go have a look.

Honda 1954 R125 Racer

Don't know the heritage of this cool boy racer from the 50's - the frame and tank look vaguely Ducati scrambler. (It would be a great template for one of the Honda 50 Solo's below).

Japan only Honda 50 Solo

If ever there was a reason to get a grey import, this is it.. theselittle gems are deadringers for the old 50's Zundapps / bantams, and are very modifiable.
