BIKES OF THE 2019 RED BULL STRAIGHT RHYTHM: 90's 2 stroke bliss

The 2019 Red Bull Straight Rhythm is all two-stroke machines and paying homage to the ’90s. Some of the sports top athletes like Ken Roczen, Cooper Webb, Jason Anderson, Cole Seeley, Travis Pastrana, Tyler Bowers, Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Sipes and Ronnie Mac himself will be doing battle but there won’t be a four-stroke within miles for the course. They will all be riding two-stroke machines. Some new, some old, some factory level machines with unobtainable parts and some being held together by safety wire.

Thanks to the always brilliant Dirt Bike Magazine:

A JAP-BSA-HUSQVARNA MOTOCROSS RACER, thanks to SILODROME

This amazing old 'crosser started out as a BSA Gold Star, and features a JAP engine (from a car) and Husky parts. I don't normally re-post something new straight off another site, but this is such a wonderful story - read all about it here: SILODROME

1994 KX250 Hot Wheels Splitfire Body Panels (engine shrouds) on Ebay - the future was here !

Acerbis and UFO both made these in the mid 90's. Engine shrouds (or 'billboards' as they were called) did wonders for.... not much really. I can find a few old ads for them but were rarely used professionally. Here's a set on Ebay !

Here's a green set of UFO's that went for fifty bucks on VitalMX

I think i prefer the previous year's cleaner lines mysself... and besides, I don't think those shrouds will fit my Combat Wombat.

Honda RC250M - 1981, from the "MXWorksBike.com" VMX website

An amazing collection of works and title winning vintage motocross bikes from the era when every season bought radical changes, and the the makes were radically different from each other.
The RC250 shows well how the manufacturers were grappling with new design, and air cooled engines were still dominant.
This extraordinary collection belongs to Terry Good of Chicago - Tons of pics and great informaton including current 'historics' events. Put aside a lazy hour before you visit.....
